Award from DASA ESOH

Remotely Operated Underwater Munitions Recovery System (ROUMRS) Demonstration Project: The US Army has awarded a contract to ARA, Inc. to recover military munitions to a depth of about 120' from Ordnance Reef, Waianae, Hawaii using remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). The field operations will likely occur during the summer/fall period of 2010.

Awarded Valve and Hose Maintenance Plan Contract

ARA has been awarded the Valve and Hose Maintenance Plan contract by NAVSSES. Work will improve and expand the existing audit program for shipboard valves and hoses.


September 1, 2008

Awarded Army Environmental Center Contract

ARA has been awarded a sole-source contract for an Asbestos Survey, Explosive Building Assessment, and Hazardous and Special Waste Inventory of the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant. KSAAP is a government-owned, contractor-operated installation under the jurisdiction of the Joint Munitions Command and is slated for closure as part of BRAC 2005. ARA will inspect all buildings, structures, and facilities on the site for the presence of explosives, ACM, and other hazardous materials to support transfer and provide recommendations.

ARA has opened up a new field office in Maryland.

Awarded Second E-LCDIS Enhancement Contract

ARA has been sub-contracted by Marine Systems Corporation and will provide research on barcode scanners, wireless technology, and alternative handheld devices for possible use with E-LCDIS. ARA will also provide upgrades to the application as directed by PSNSY ( Puget Sound Naval Shipyard ) Boston Detachment.

Awarded E-LCDIS Enhancement Contract

E-LCDIS ( Enhanced LCAC Corrosion Data Input System ) is used by the LCAC community as a tool to record corrosion inspection data on a PDA. ARA has been sub-contracted by Marine Systems Corporation and will provide upgrades to the application as directed by PSNSY ( Puget Sound Naval Shipyard ) Boston Detachment.

Awarded support contract with Naval Sea Logistics Center's Integrated Class Maintenance Plan (ICMP) program.

The ICMP Senior Project Manager will provide ship alteration and configuration data to assist with ship availability work package development. The services will be provided on site in the Brunswick office.

ARA has opened up a new field office in downtown Brunswick, Maine.

Awarded contract from Naval Air Systems Command

ARA awarded a mulit-year contract from NAVAIR to work on a "Proof-of-Concept" project, PDA-MAP ( Personal Digital Assistant - Maintenance Application Project ). PDA-MAP is designed to automate record keeping of P-3 aircraft maintenance using a handheld device, with the ability to expand the application to all forms of craft maintenance.
